Bold italic not working with Helvetica on MacOS

The package uses Nimbus Sans as a fallback if the system does not provide verbatim Helvetica. My new Mac ships with Helvetica which is used instead of the fallback, but the properties bold and italic are not applied or have no effect. Did someone else also experience the same issue? Maybe @mguth?
